ABOUT ICRP 2018

​

ICRP is an international conference opens to researchers and academics all over the world to participate and discuss towards safe cities and resilient communities. Accepted papers shall be published in the proceedings of 3rd ICRP2018. Selected papers shall be published in the double-blind peer reviewed in the Malaysian Journal of Sustainable Environment (MySE) and several selected papers shall be published in chapter in book entitled "Safe Cities & Resilient Communities". The conference’s International Scientific Committee members are also Editorial Board members in the MySE journals.

Urbanization has concentrated mainly on the development of economic activities which have led to boosting the growth of the economic. However, the process has also promoted inequality, social disruption, environmental damage as well as direct impact on the criminal behaviour that may affect the quality of human life. Thus, the strength of community spirit and environmental development, as well as organizations, need to be balanced to maintain the sustainability of the quality of urban life. Therefore, urban development should be incorporated and be used as an approach towards building safe cities by building the resilient systems. In enhancing urban resilient a people-centred and multi-faceted approach should be followed in order to integrate and highlight the physical, social, economic, governance and community characteristics. In addition, an integrated approach for planning long-term socio-technical system, built-nature must be applied to ensure the success of sustainable cities.
